The Problem

For the past few years, I've been working as a freelancer doing all sorts of work. In the beginning, I used a spreadsheet to track my income and expenses, but it quickly became too cumbersome to manage and frankly, not enjoyable. I quickly realized I needed a streamlined way to keep track of my finances, so I did some market research, gathered feedback, and put my skills to work and built 1099Buddy.

The Solution

I built a tool that followed my values as a developer: simplicity, efficiency, and clarity. My goal was to create a simple yet powerful tool that would make tax season stress-free and financial tracking effortless. Powered by React Native, Expo, SQLite, TypeScript, and Supabase, 1099Buddy is an an iOS app that delivers exceptional user experience and performance.
